Oncology Pipeline

Oncology research at Bayer prioritizes cutting-edge science across a range of areas of research. Our current research is focused on 3 key areas: Tumor intrinsic pathways, next-generation immuno-oncology, and targeted radionuclide therapies.

Tumor Intrinsic Pathways - Androgen Receptor Signaling

Androgen receptor signaling occurs through the binding of androgens or alternative ligands to the receptor, which causes translocation of the receptor complex to the nucleus.

Tumor Intrinsic Pathways - HER2/mEGFR Inhibitor

Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) and mutant epidermal growth factor receptor (mEGFR) are proteins that help cells to grow and divide.

Immuno-oncology

Anti-tumor immune response can be enhanced by targeting different immune-mediated pathways.

Tumor Intrinsic Pathways -Oncogenic Signaling

Activation of many oncogenic signaling pathways due to genetic alterations and/or driver mutations plays a critical role in cancer development. Dysregulation of these oncogenic pathways may promote cancer progression through changes in various cellular events.

Targeted Radionuclide Therapy

Alpha particles are believed to cause complex DNA double-strand breaks in cancer cells and the tumor microenvironment, potentially leading to cell death.
