What Is the Prostate ?

The prostate is a small walnut-shaped organ located below the bladder and in front of the rectum in men; it is responsible for producing fluid that nourishes and transports sperm. Androgens are essential for the development of the prostate.1,2

What Is Prostate Cancer ?

When abnormal cells form and grow in the prostate, this may be caused from prostate cancer. And once prostate cancer cells form, the cancer feeds on androgens (primarily testosterone) and uses them as fuel for growth.1-3

What Tests Are Done in Prostate Cancer ?

Your healthcare professional (HCP) may screen you for prostate cancer based on certain factors like age, race, family history and others. In addition, your HCP may suggest other tests to diagnose and stage prostate cancer.4-6 Please note that not all tests listed here5,7 are required for screening, diagnosing, and/or staging prostate cancer.
